Our flagship integration

Chapter 1: Shopify

Shopify. Needs no introduction.

The world’s go-to e-commerce platform, used by millions of merchants in 175+ countries. With our integration, your store keeps running in Shopify.

What stays in Shopify

  • Your catalogue and stock
  • Your orders and customers
  • Your Shopify admin and apps
  • Your online store and channels

Shopify figures: millions of merchants in 175+ countries, and $378B in gross merchandise volume (GMV) in 2025. Source: Shopify Investor Relations, Q4 2025 results.

Chapter 2: SumUp

SumUp, the complete payment platform.

Card terminals, online payments and a business account, with an IBAN and a free Mastercard in many countries. You open it online with your company. No mandatory subscription: SumUp charges a fee on the payments you take.

Services, fees and availability depend on your country and SumUp eligibility.

What SumUp handles

  • Card payment processing
  • Business account and IBAN
  • Free Mastercard
  • Payment links and invoices
  • Instant transfers

More than 4 million merchants use SumUp. In France, SumUp’s public rates are 1.75% per in-person card payment and 2.5% online, with no mandatory subscription (optional paid plan available). Source: sumup.com, September 2026. Rates set by SumUp and subject to change.

Chapter 3: Connected

Connecting them is what we do.

Taking your Shopify orders through SumUp takes a real integration. We set it up for your store, in the markets where SumUp is available to your business.

What Checkout Flow configures

  • A payment step linked to your Shopify orders
  • Verified payment confirmation
  • Orders created or updated in Shopify
  • Tests before go-live

What happens when a customer pays

  1. Shopify cart
  2. Configured payment step
  3. SumUp payment
  4. Verified confirmation
  5. Shopify order created or updated

Your customers pay on a secure SumUp payment step linked to their order. The exact journey is defined with you in the quote.

A custom integration, not a plug-in

How it works

A simple integration. Three steps.

A guided setup that doesn’t interrupt your sales.

  1. We review your setup

You give us access to Shopify. We review your store, your SumUp account and your payment needs.

  2. We set up and test

We configure the payment step and the order updates, then test the agreed scenarios: successful payment, declined payment and any case in your scope.

  3. You go live

We switch on when it suits you and hand over the documentation. Follow-up is defined in your quote.

What we deliver

Checkout Flow carries out the integration as an independent service provider. Shopify and SumUp remain your direct providers.

  • Review of your configuration
  • Integration setup
  • Payment journey adapted to your store
  • Tests of the agreed scenarios
  • Go-live
  • Documentation
  • Support as defined in your quote

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, our answers.

How long does the Shopify × SumUp integration take?

Often a few days once we have access, testing included. The timeline depends on your store and the scope, and is confirmed in your quote.

Does it work if my store is already live?

Yes. We work on your existing store without stopping your sales, and switch over when it suits you.

Do I need a SumUp account already?

No. If you don’t have one, we guide you through opening a SumUp business account for your company, online and subject to SumUp’s checks.

How does payment work for my customers?

Your customers order in your Shopify store, then pay on a secure SumUp payment step. Once SumUp confirms the payment, the order is created or updated in Shopify. We configure and test the whole journey.

Which countries does the integration work in?

It is rolling out across SumUp-compatible markets: SumUp serves businesses in Europe, the United States, Canada, Latin America and Australia. We check eligibility based on the country where your business is registered and the SumUp features available locally. Start with the country search.

How much does it cost?

Our integration is priced on quote, based on your project. On SumUp’s side, the basic account has no mandatory subscription: SumUp charges a fee on each payment. Fees and plans are set by SumUp and depend on your country.

Are you part of Shopify or SumUp?

No. Checkout Flow is an independent service provider. We carry out the integration on your store; Shopify and SumUp remain your direct providers.
